Sarah Hennessy
I was Senior Lecturer in Music Education at the University of Exeter 1990-2016.
I led primary music teacher training for both specialists and generalists and also taught Masters and supervised doctoral students. Prior to Exeter I taught in secondary and primary schools in England.
I studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and the Institute of Education, London University. I am now a freelance consultant and project evaluator.
I have published books and articles on music teacher education and creativity in music education.
I have been involved with the Orff Approach since 1991 and am currently Chair of the Orff Society UK.
I am interested in creative approaches to teaching music to all children and concerned with the question of how we can learn from our teaching to teach better.
